Biography

Massimiliano Puglese was born in Rome in 1970. After graduating in Economics and

Statistics, he carried on his Photography studies at the Istituto Superiore di Fotografa e

Comunicazione Integrata (ISFCI) in Rome.

For years, beside his job at a public authority, he has been nurturing his photographic activities achieving personal projects through an intimate language. Thanks to his strong authorial style, he stands out very soon in several contests and photographic prizes, and his works have been displayed in several national and international expositions.

In 2015, his work “Getting Lost is Wonderful” was published by Fugazine, an independent photographic productions based in Rome.

This enigmatic work was born and developed starting from the fascinating cinematographic and musical influences the author has explored for long time. He examined in depth different emotional and exciting forms, giving rise to a fertile soil for the strongly personal photographic imagination characterizing “Getting Lost is Wonderful”.

Suggestive scenarios in unknown time, always related to individual and human isolation, carry ourselves into the most secret moments of restlessness, concern and confusion, without ever showing them clearly. On the contrary, since the pictured situations are never clearly revealed, we find ourselves suspending our judgment of such scenes, drifting into a dark mystery.
