Diego Rivera is a Mexican painter born in 1886 in Guanajuato and died in 1957 in Mexico City. He began to draw from an early age and entered at the age of 12 only at the National School of Fine Arts in San Carlos, from which he graduated in 1905. After his studies, Diego Riviera went to study in Europe on a scholarship. State. On his return, he exhibited his works in Mexico, and then enjoyed significant success, particularly with President Diaz's wife, who bought him six paintings. Fleeing the civil war in his country, he left for Paris in 1910 where he led a bohemian life. In 1920, Diego Rivera returned to Mexico, where he made his first mural, a type of work, very colorful, which quickly became his trademark. A committed artist, his paintings speak of civil war and revolution, and through his frescoes he addresses societal themes that are dear to him. In 1929, he was excluded from the Communist Party because he was considered anti-Communist, but paradoxically married Frida Kahlo, a famous Mexican communist artist, the same year. The two have numerous extramarital affairs, including one involving Leon Trotsky, but their love, crowned by two marriages, remains strong. They both form an iconic couple from the Mexican and international art world.
