Presentation
I am Lawal Ibrahim, a visual artist, born in Lagos, Nigeria in 1996. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Biology Education from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria in 2016. I proceeded to my postgraduate studies at the Open University, Abuja where I got a Master's Degree in Administration and Planning in 2020.
My works are centered around the consciousness of humans and their relationship with our surroundings, using mediums ranging from pens to watercolors, fabric, and newspapers. I delved into a new style of art called Aprosopi. This style of art combines hyper-realism from traditional art and digital art.
With less emphasis on the face, it is a way of asking questions, about is human facial features importance exaggerated and their implications on our societal relationships. All my life I have always wanted to express myself through my art and get them to be an extension of my innate thoughts
I participated in a group exhibition held in Abuja at the Ivory Place; the Flow Session (2021). I currently reside in Abuja, Nigeria, where I work as a full-time artist
