Mbambo Buhle Wonder

Biography

Born in South Africa in 1989, Mbambo Buhle Wonder is a portrait artist whose work explores the Black body in spiritually-charged compositions. Learning his craft through a number of artistic residency programs, Wonder produces art that often employs charcoal and acrylic paint. His signature motif, a gold flower overlaid upon his figures, is an ode to his South African heritage.

The artist’s work has been exhibited in South Africa, Germany, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.
