Biography

Born in Brazil and currently based in Muizenberg, Cape Town, SA Bragah is a volunteer Social Worker Missionary and uses his art to fund his mission travels.

His work tells stories of places, people, and events, expresses the fragments, scenes, and quotidian frames that give meaning to the cultures in which he partakes.

"I use oils and acrylics as my primary medium and speak through different lines and strokes. Even the density and texture of the paint are used to evoke the environment, the scene, the moment, the complexity, and contrast.

Being a foreigner in South Africa gives me the advantage of depicting Cape Town or South Africa through my experiences and views" he says.

I believe to be an emerging Outsider Artist. Apart from any professional School/University or any consistent influence in art training.

I consider myself fortunate to have the privileged to work among at least four great professionals' artists and learn with and from them for about ten years. Primitive without training, maybe. Innocent and naïve at times, perhaps.

Therefore, it does not change the fact that I study it, read, and visit different museums and did so many online tutorials from various great contemporary artists and mediums.
