Pierre Manzone

Born May 2, 1915 in Monaco. Painter of nudes, figures, portraits, urban landscapes, seascapes, cartoonist, decorator, ceramist, post-impressionist tendency. He comes from a family of shoemaker craftsmen. Young, he took courses at the School of Decorative Arts in Monaco. At 19, he joined the French Navy. He travels a lot and then after the war, collaborates with various newspapers for his cartoons. He then devoted himself to painting and ceramics. he appears in group exhibitions from the end of the 1940s and shows his work in personal exhibitions in Cannes, Nice and Toulouse. Also abroad, Bern, Turin, Montreal, etc. he won several prizes, in particular the grand prix of the municipality of Monaco in 1950 and the "golden palette" at the Lyon autumn fair in 1964.
