Biography
Andrew McAttee studied Fine Art at Central St Martin’s in London, UK.
Andrew McAttee has a background in graffiti where he developed his graphic and colourful style. Influenced by abstract expressionism and Pop art, McAttee produces hybrid works that are both sculptural in parts, and a masterly display and understanding of colour and pattern. The artist states, “my work is a hybrid style born of these combining factors, offering the viewer a vision into a world that is out of the ordinary, with a sense of escape into an inventive cosmic nebulous of upbeat excitement, like a worm hole into another world”.
Combining wood relief, acrylic and spray paint the artist paints dazzling collisions of colour and forms that allude to outer space and cosmic events, such as a supernova, and the creation of stars and planets. Dynamic elements of gases, fire and colour spheres jostle for position and bombard the eye.
