Biography
John Riley Wilmer was the son of a Falmouth chemist and studied at Falmouth School of Art and with Charles Napier Hemy. He was also advised by Henry Scott Tuke and specialised in historical, religious and theatrical subjects, which he exhibited at the Royal Academy in London.
