Luke Fontana is an internationally renowned historic New Orleans jazz photographer, abstract artist, lawyer, producer, and environmental activist, currently residing in the historic Marigny Suburb of New Orleans and the Rockies, on the beach of Gore Creek mtn White River National Forest Vail Colorado.
Mr. Fontana describes himself as a mix between Paul Strand and Walker Evans with the taste of Henri Cartier Bresson.
Luke Fontana received a photography fellowship from the National Endowment of Arts, Washington DC to document black people in the rural south in the early 1970s.
Lucca titled his first work: "VALLEY OF THE PECAN GATHERERS"
Luke Fontana considers this first project funded by a National Endowment of Arts Photographic Fellowship as his best work.
Indeed, the artist's enhanced photograph of Luke Fontana on canvas of his "Valley of the Pecan Pickers" is now seen and sold internationally on the French site Artsper. In addition, many of his original New Orleans Jazz works of art are presented internationally.
