Vase feuilles, 2024

Aurélie Trabaud   New & remarkable Artists

This vase, made of very fine brown chamotte stoneware, was made on a potter's wheel and coil. It captures the essence of decorative art with dazzling purity. Its slender, cylindrical shape immediately catches the eye, offering an elegant and balanced silhouette.

The finely worked and glazed ceramic material, marked by a smooth, polished surface, delicately reflects the light. What truly distinguishes this piece is the engraved pattern that envelops its surface. Botanical elements, including stylized leaves and floral motifs, unfold with natural grace on the body of the vase. Each leaf and flower are rendered with meticulous precision, creating a harmonious and captivating whole. The fluid, sinuous lines of the engraving seem almost animated, as if they were dancing on the surface of the vase.

The color palette chosen for this vase is subtle and sophisticated. The predominant tones, varying from deep grey-brown-blue to lighter shades of grey-blue to light brown, add a dimension of serenity and tranquility. The coloring technique appears to be a mixture of matte and glossy glaze, providing depth and texture that enrich the overall aesthetic of the work. In conclusion, this vase is an exceptional example of the artist's skillful mastery, where every detail is carefully thought out and executed. It is a piece that not only demonstrates exceptional craftsmanship but also evokes poetic emotion through its elegant design and delicate ornamentation.
