Description
This artwork by artist Wissam Beydoun is a mesmerizing fusion of abstract and surreal elements, skillfully blending vibrant colors and intricate patterns to create a dynamic composition. Dominated by earthy tones of yellows and greens, the piece features an organic interplay of shapes that seem to morph seamlessly into one another, inviting the viewer into a dreamlike landscape. In the foreground, elegant floral forms emerge, their petals painted in rich, warm hues that contrast dramatically with the cooler palette of the background. These flowers appear almost translucent, allowing glimpses of the layered textures beneath, showcasing the artist's adept use of color and form. The background is a harmonious swirl of blues and whites, suggesting a serene sky, with a tree subtly etched into the scene, its branches adorned with abstract leaves.
Presentation
Born in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1961, Wissam Beydoun received his bachelor of art from the Lebanese American University (LAU) with the Sheikh Zayed Award distinction.
Beydoun works with organic forms, creating abstract landscapes that celebrate the majesty of mountains and the overall beauty of nature. His recent oeuvre revolves around his relationship with his hometown. Experimenting with the art of cartography, he maps out Beirut according to his experiences, documenting the emotions embedded in this metamorphic city.
Beydoun has held several individual and collective exhibitions in Lebanon and France, and has participated in Sursock Museum’s ‘Salon d’Automne’. His work is featured in numerous private collections.
