Description
This captivating work features an abstract humanoid silhouette created in ink. Dominated by shades of pink, the figure appears to float on the paper, giving off a sense of airy lightness. The blurred contours of the arms and legs give the character a dynamic of suspended movement. The rounded shapes and simplified features evoke an almost dreamlike creature, halfway between dream and reality. The color gradients add depth, while the variations of pink enrich the whole with a visual softness. The minimalist aspect of the white background accentuates the enigmatic and charismatic presence of the silhouette. The contrast between abstraction and the subtle suggestion of human features irresistibly draws the eye and encourages interpretation. This work is distinguished by its ability to merge simplicity and mystery, inviting introspective exploration.
Presentation
Brigitte Derbigny is a contemporary painter, draftsman, and printmaker based in France. Her artistic talent has gained national and international recognition, with exhibitions in Spain, Canada, and Brazil.
Brigitte Derbigny's creative process is an introspective journey, a journey from the inside out, taking place in the margins of her mind. It begins with spontaneous bursts of inspiration, manifesting as quick sketches made with pencil, marker, ballpoint pen, or ink—whatever tools are at hand. These sketches constitute the genesis of her artistic exploration, transporting her beyond the boundaries of time and space, from the realms of yesterday to the landscapes of today.
A graduate of the École des Beaux-Arts de Lille, Derbigny currently resides and works in Burgundy, where she continues to explore the depths of her artistic vision, inviting the viewer to embark on a journey of introspection and discovery through her evocative creations.
