Description
An instinctive composition where the black line seals the movement.
The animal stretches in a space saturated with red, captured by a nervous and precise line.
The fixed gaze, almost human, anchors the scene in a symbolic dimension.
The use of the ballpoint pen and watercolor creates a marked contrast between the rigor of the outline and the fluidity of the washes.
Stylized birds frame the central figure, adding a repetitive rhythm to the whole.
The approach is raw art, prioritizing the authenticity of the gesture over academic technique.
The solar yellow of the body opposes the ardent background, accentuating the visual tension.
This creation explores the relationship between animal instinct and unconscious expression.
The surface is rhythmized by graphic motifs and regular hatching.
The integrated frame, adorned with small circles, closes the pictorial space.
Presentation
Self-taught and instinctive, MAÏ has been exploring the realms of human expression for fifteen years. Portraits, bodies, faces: over the years, MAÏ has sought less to represent than to capture raw emotion.
After a silent pause, confinement acts as a catalyst. Drawing emerges, immediate, unfiltered. Pens, markers, and ordinary paper become her instruments. Color is intuitive and impulsive.
Her gesture becomes more radical: black and white dominates, the line becomes an inner engraving. Abandoning all formal research, she allows autonomous works to emerge, where the unconscious expresses itself freely.
For her, art is not about technique, but about authenticity. Each creation is a journey, a fragment of an inner truth that the viewer is invited to extend.
