Description
The line unfolds with instinctive frankness. Here, the ballpoint pen becomes a tool of precision to explore the depths of the unconscious. Blue and black intertwine in a dense, almost ritualistic composition.
A central figure dominates the space, marked by a multiplication of gazes. Eyes open everywhere, on the forehead, in the sky and in the heart of the patterns. This omnipresence of the gaze suggests an augmented perception, a vision that transcends the physical frame.
The style is in the realm of raw art. The gesture is direct, unfiltered, favoring authenticity over academic technique. At the bottom of the page, four female silhouettes repeat, creating a hypnotic rhythm.
Birds fly around the head, adding a spiritual dimension to the whole. The balance between the areas of shadow and the blue hatching structures the scene. This 2025 creation testifies to a research into the raw expression of emotions. The drawing rests on simple paper, where every line engraves an inner truth.
Presentation
Self-taught and instinctive, MAÏ has been exploring the realms of human expression for fifteen years. Portraits, bodies, faces: over the years, MAÏ has sought less to represent than to capture raw emotion.
After a silent pause, confinement acts as a catalyst. Drawing emerges, immediate, unfiltered. Pens, markers, and ordinary paper become her instruments. Color is intuitive and impulsive.
Her gesture becomes more radical: black and white dominates, the line becomes an inner engraving. Abandoning all formal research, she allows autonomous works to emerge, where the unconscious expresses itself freely.
For her, art is not about technique, but about authenticity. Each creation is a journey, a fragment of an inner truth that the viewer is invited to extend.
