Description
A feline assembly takes over the space. The line, nervous and instinctive, draws stylized silhouettes. The gaze is direct. The approach is raw art. Here, technique fades before the authenticity of the gesture.
The contrast between the dark background and the light bodies creates a marked visual rhythm. Dense hatching and geometric patterns structure each animal. The composition plays on repetition and superposition.
The use of the marker and ballpoint pen brings raw precision. Acrylic and watercolor enrich the chromatic depth. This 2025 creation explores animal figuration with total freedom.
The whole exudes a spontaneous energy. The forms stretch and crowd in a narrow yellow frame. The final rendering mixes the rigor of the line and the impulsiveness of the colors.
Presentation
Self-taught and instinctive, MAÏ has been exploring the realms of human expression for fifteen years. Portraits, bodies, faces: over the years, MAÏ has sought less to represent than to capture raw emotion.
After a silent pause, confinement acts as a catalyst. Drawing emerges, immediate, unfiltered. Pens, markers, and ordinary paper become her instruments. Color is intuitive and impulsive.
Her gesture becomes more radical: black and white dominates, the line becomes an inner engraving. Abandoning all formal research, she allows autonomous works to emerge, where the unconscious expresses itself freely.
For her, art is not about technique, but about authenticity. Each creation is a journey, a fragment of an inner truth that the viewer is invited to extend.
