Description
Two pink lemonades glow in a cheerful summer setting. This original gouache and oil pastel artwork on paper presents two glasses of lemonade with colorful straws, a lemon slice, and a halved grapefruit. The familiar tabletop scene is transformed through overlapping geometric shapes, curved dark blue forms, pastel blocks, and softly textured surfaces.
Powder pink, pale yellow, turquoise, lilac, coral, and navy blue create a fresh palette inspired by sunny afternoons and cold summer drinks. The transparent glasses are outlined with loose white marks, while the visible oil pastel texture gives the composition warmth and spontaneity. A lemon slice appears through the foreground glass, creating a playful overlap of color and form.
The artwork brings together contemporary still life and geometric abstraction. Its simplified shapes and balanced color fields offer a modern decorative presence, while the handmade details keep the scene relaxed and inviting. It captures the atmosphere of an unhurried summer day—bright, hazy, and pleasantly free of urgent responsibilities.
This colorful original artwork is ideal for a contemporary kitchen, dining room, café, home bar, breakfast area, or creative workspace. It also makes an excellent gift for a cocktail lover, food enthusiast, host, design collector, or anyone who appreciates joyful modern decor.
Shipping note: The artwork is shipped rolled in a protective tube and will require stretching or framing after delivery.
Presentation
Julia Mauri is a contemporary artist, whose work explores memory, identity, and the emotional echoes of childhood. Born in 1985 in the former USSR, she holds a degree in linguistics from Udmurt State University but found her creative voice through visual art.
Mauri works primarily with epoxy resin and mirror surfaces, creating vibrant, tactile compositions that invite the viewer into a space of reflection—both literal and emotional. By combining candy-colored hues with glossy reflections, she evokes the tension between childhood joy and adult introspection. Her art turns light and surface into tools of psychological exploration, with each work acting as a window into fluid memory, shifting perception, and the vulnerability of self-awareness.
Her ongoing series, Let's Escape to Childhood, captures this dynamic interplay between past and present. In her practice, the mirror becomes more than a surface—it's a metaphor for transformation, presence, and emotional transparency. Resin, with its transformation from liquid to solid, symbolizes how fleeting memories settle into the structures that shape us.
Julia Mauri has participated in both national and international exhibitions, including The Universe Colors at A.L.L. Gallery (Italy) and Bare Walls at Gallery 676 (Russia). She is currently preparing for her debut solo exhibition at Signal Art Space in Kaliningrad. Her works are held in private and institutional collections in Russia and beyond.
