Description
A piercing female portrait rises from raw black and white marks. This original artwork on paper combines charcoal and gouache in a powerful composition where portraiture and abstraction collide. Soft tonal shading shapes the face with sensitivity, while large black strokes interrupt and reconstruct the figure with almost architectural force. The result is a portrait that feels both intimate and unstable, as if the image is fighting to remain visible inside a fragmented visual world.
The woman's gaze acts as the emotional center of the work, pulling the viewer into a space of tension, vulnerability, and inner strength. The monochrome palette intensifies the psychological impact while keeping the composition elegant and versatile for a contemporary interior. This artwork is ideal for collectors looking for expressive portrait art, graphic monochrome decor, and statement works for a modern living room, bedroom, office, or design-focused space. It also makes a memorable gift for someone who loves black and white aesthetics, portraiture, and emotionally charged contemporary art.

Presentation
Yuriy Khudov is a contemporary artist. Trained in furniture design and artistic woodcarving, he spent 13 years in the film industry as an art director, concept artist, and 3D modeler before shifting his focus toward figurative painting and drawing. His background also includes visual merchandising and work on the creation and restoration of wooden crosses on the Solovetsky Islands.
Yuriy's practice marks a deliberate move away from digital precision toward ambiguity, physical texture, and expressive gesture. Working across oil painting, drawing, and mixed media, he explores psychological states that exist between clarity and dissolution. Female figures often emerge from darkness or appear suspended between dream, memory, and physical presence. Rather than using color and light to describe reality, Yuriy employs them to create emotional tension and stillness. Unfinished forms, visible brushwork, and disrupted surfaces allow the image to remain open, shifting between recognition and abstraction.
