Description
This composition plays on the balance between abstraction and figuration. A sketched face emerges on the right. The features are fine. The gaze remains suggested. A few touches of red highlight the lips.
The face seems to float in a fragmented space. To the left, a dark rectangle imposes its presence. This chromatic block creates a sharp contrast with the clarity of the background.
The textile work brings a tactile dimension. The artist superimposes the materials and textures. Shades of ochre and gray interweave.
A fragment of text is inserted into the dark area. The message becomes a visual component in its own right. This approach mixes painting and collage.
The whole exudes a melancholic serenity. The framing is rigorous. The layout evokes a diary or a notebook.
The work is presented under glass with a white mat. It is protected by a sober black frame.
Presentation
Creator since the beginning.
Théodé has always lived by and for drawing.
Immersed from childhood in the clear line of Hergé - the adventures of Tintin, Spirou, or Blackberry - drawing, graphics and visual arts are omnipresent in his life.
After studying graphic arts at St Luc in Belgium, he started a career as a designer in London and then as an art director in Paris where he created renowned and recognized brand identities and logos such as those of the Caisse d'Epargne Ecureuil or the GMF.
He then founded his own structure and worked on all fronts of graphic communication: design, photography, drawing, interior architecture, scenography.
He remains permanently immersed in artistic creation and keeps a place of choice for his passion, the common thread of his career: drawing.
An artistic language based on line and gesture
As a designer, his creativity and his first sketches and "roughs" have always seduced clients surprised to discover the visual concretization of their project.
As an artist, his two major subjects, tigers and live models, show the same verve.
A spontaneity and a mastery of the gesture which call out.
Vigor, audacity and creativity give birth to strong emotions.
A work based on sincerity, the pleasure of the line, the mixture of the textures and the constant research of a new way of expression.
A fetish animal, the tiger
His artistic journey continues today with a totem, a fetish animal that he loves: the tiger.
His companions of road metamorphose, sometimes Warriors, Legends,
Spirits, Gods or Demons... Sometimes simple witnesses of the emotions of life.
Tigers, as pretexts to create the line, the line, to play with the freedom and the pleasure of the unexpected.
the pleasure of the unexpected. Becoming characters, their looks call out to us.
These portraits of tigers penetrate deep inside us, mirrors of our soul or windows of our dreams.
A gallery in perpetual evolution where the diversity of the emotions and the styles translate the richness of the men.
