Description
Born in 1933 in Cormeilles-en-Parisis (near Paris). After successful studies, Adam Nidzgorski obtained a scholarship in 1951 and went to Warsaw for 3 years. Of Polish descent, he then lived in Poland until 1956. He became one of the leaders of the judoka activity. Before starting his career as a painter, Adam taught physics in Turkey from 1957 to 1967.
His painting sums up the notion of "autodidact" well: Nidzgorski uses all kinds of mediums and supports for these works; India ink, Bic pencils, pastel on tablecloths, cardboard boxes or newspapers. He sometimes completes his creation with textile assemblies.
From 1998, this artist left Paris for Marseille where he resides and works.

Adam Nidzgorski is a French artist of Polish origin who was born in 1933 in Cormeilles-en-Parisis, near Paris.
After studying at the Franco-Polish High School until 1951, he moved to Poland to continue his studies in Warsaw until 1954. In 1963, encouraged by a friend, he started to draw and paint. Nidzgorski is a self-taught man and dedicates most of his works to human representation.
Nidzgorski produces his works on different types of mediums, such as newspapers and textiles. He paints and draws simple characters that stare deeply at the viewer and can’t let anyone feel indifferent.
