French artists

Nicolas Fropo de Habart is an artist born in 1962 in Saint-Mande. He currently lives and works in Nîmes. He studied law and philosophy before graduating from the School of Fine Arts of Aix en Provence. Fascinated by the subject of the place of man in the universe, he works the body in all its dimensions and uses painting to question its relationship with the world. Nicolas Fropo de Habart likes to give an absolute feeling of vastness to his paintings in order to replace man in his environment. It draws from the intimate, in order to do this he uses warm colors such as ocher, brown and red. The characters he portrays are recognizable by their unkempt hair, their serious faces and the abnormal length of their necks. There is a sort of pain and melancholy reflected by these wandering souls, evoking the past of the artist who was victim of an accident during his youth. His works are exhibited throughout France, in group and solo exhibitions.
