Description
The artwork "Party’s Over" by Irish artist Glori Galon is a vibrant acrylic on canvas measuring 92 x 60 cm. It features a female figure whose face is beautifully obscured by a mixture of colorful flowers. In her right hand, she holds a pink teddy bear, while her left-hand clutches a red balloon. Surrounding her are cacti, rendered in striking greens and blues, which enhance the lively atmosphere of the piece. The combination of elements creates a whimsical yet thought-provoking scene, capturing a moment of both joy and introspection.
Presentation
Irish Glori Galon is a Boholana artist now making waves in the local art scene. A would-be architect, she chose to set aside her lucrative career in favor of her art.
Irish has won the Grand Prize in PVAF, an honorable mention on AAP’s On-the-Spot competition, and is a three-time Metrobank Art & Design Excellence (MADE) finalist.
Irish continues to wow audiences with her surreal yet melancholic pieces that are an extension of her memory, the narrative of her past experiences, her hopes for the future, and the pulsations of her heart and soul.
