Description
This vibrant artwork presents a spacious, sunlit room boasting large floor-to-ceiling windows that reveal a lush urban landscape. The interior exudes a blend of elegance and casual charm, with scattered books and eclectic furnishings, including a draped chair and a modern, abstract-patterned ottoman. Notable is the couple casually posed in the foreground, exuding a relaxed yet sophisticated aura. Their presence, amidst an array of potted plants and elegant vases, adds a personal touch to the sophisticated decor. This dynamic interplay between interior serenity and exterior vitality is captured with vivid colors and intricate details, highlighting an inspired fusion of domestic tranquility and urban vibrancy. The artistic style combines precision with an expressive flourish, inviting viewers to explore the harmonious balance between the intimate indoor setting and the expansive outdoor view.
Presentation
The worlds of fashion, society and pop culture are explored through the illustrations of Manuel Santelices, a Chilean artist and journalist living and working in New York for the last 20 years. After writing stories about style, design, art and politics for a number of magazines, including the Spanish editions of Elle, Harper's Bazaar and Esquire, and being fashion writer in New York for Vogue Mexico and Latin American for 7 years, Manuel decided to focus his attention to illustration, painting mostly with watercolors the same characters and events he covered as a journalist.
