Description
goldfinch sits gracefully on a branch of a pomegranate tree, its colors bright and precise, like jewels in the light. Beneath it lies the open fruit, its red seeds glistening like tiny gems.
The oval frame enhances the feeling of intimacy, as if you were looking through a window at a quiet moment from another world.
Valéry Vecu Quitard uses oil paint and a steady hand to strike a balance between nature and imagination. Every detail is just right, yet something mysterious lingers: the quiet wonder of a bird that seems to know it is being admired.
Presentation
Valéry Vecu Quitard (1960) was born in Perpignan. He lives in the beautiful southern French village of Castelnou. At the age of seven he was already very good at drawing.
His teacher at school immediately recognized his great talents, which formed the basis for his later development as a beloved fine-art painter.
Vécu is a great international talent.
Vécu discovered the technique of the trompe-l'oeil witch fascinated him. He developed and managed to create the illusion of a non-existent space by painting very accurately.
Wooden dolls, musical instruments, old toys and other unusual subjects reveal his fascination for legends, myths, fables and symbolism. When you study his paintings, you can feel the patience and concentration with which he works.
