Description
A single building is surrounded by round and conical vegetation, itself pierced by a single opening. The artist's artwork is part of a series in which perspectives are aerial and the horizon is nowhere to be seen. The ground grid is reminiscent of Roman centuriation, with straight axes intersecting at right angles.
Ramon Enrich's paintings create a dialogue between architecture and landscape in a figurative art style that features geometric forms and a mysterious atmosphere. The landscapes and the almost abstract simplicity of the forms give the architecture a highly theatrical appearance.
Presentation
Ramon Enrich is a contemporary Spanish painter who lives and works in Igualada near Barcelona. After a technical education at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona, he joined the Jonas Judd Foundation and then at the Chinati Foundation in the United States. In Los Angeles, he worked with Ed Ruscha and David Hockney, before becoming Julian Schnabel's assistant in New York.
In his figurative paintings, with their geometric shapes and enigmatic atmosphere, Ramon Enrich establishes a conversation between architecture and landscape. The simplicity of his landscape forms creates a highly theatrical vision of architecture.
