This artwork is a mesmerizing exploration of color and texture, dominated by a striking interplay between deep blue and white. The image evokes the sensation of frothy waves meeting a serene ocean, with intricate textures resembling the foam and depths of the sea. The blue is both vivid and rich, creating a sense of endless depth, while the white elements provide dynamic contrast and movement. This combination results in a textured surface that is both chaotic and harmonious. The piece seems to dance between abstraction and subtle representation, inviting viewers to immerse in its rhythmic patterns. It challenges perception, encouraging contemplation of nature’s vast, unrestrained beauty. The seemingly random distribution of hues and textures creates an illusion of natural chaos, while maintaining a deliberate and captivating balance. This artwork stands out for its ability to evoke profound emotional responses through simplicity and depth.
The panel paintings "Expanded Metal Paintings" are the closest to the classic art of painting. Firstly paint is applied by a brush on a primed canvas. Then wire mesh is dunked into black and white paint and is used to create abstract patterns on top of the red and light grey areas. Similar to traditional blueprints with textiles, the wire mesh is moved across the canvas like a mold. Fingerprints remain as well as the redundant paint. The finished work bears a haptic sensation, the form resembles calligraphy: the surface's sensuality takes center stage.
