Koi Fish on Blue, 2023

Rakhmet Redzhepov (Ramzi)

In my canvas, I unleashed an aquatic ballet, a vivid dance contrasting vivacious koi against a serene blue. I melded expressionism's passion with impressionism's fluidity, infusing pops of surreal joy. Crafted with the lushness of acrylics, the depth of oils, oil pastels' vibrancy, and colored pencils' precision, this piece resonates with life's vibrant flow, destined to invigorate any home with its dynamic energy.
When he starts painting, his heartbeat rises from the expectation of a meeting with the canvas and a great desire to paint, his whole body begins to tremble, the muscles on his back tense, up to cramps, and this feeling and inspiration does not let go of him, all the while I paint a picture. It is akin to the feeling before the first kiss or the desire to possess a girl. The feeling that something wonderful and unique is about to happen. The same strong feelings you experience in childhood when you sneak up on a bird or a butterfly before grabbing and catching it! And in the work on the picture there is in these feelings and almost physical suffering: foresight that now you will create a masterpiece! And this is repeated almost every time - either in front of a blank canvas or an image that comes to mind...
