Peaceful Slumber, Silence Series, 2024

Tetiana Pchelnykova

In her new painting from the "Silence" series, the artist masterfully conveys the depth of tranquility and inner peace. The vast landscape with the sleeping figure of a woman in the foreground creates a sense of safety and rest, which is particularly important in times of great turmoil and instability. The primitive depictions of horses and birds in the background remind us of the simplicity and purity of childhood dreams and imaginations. These elements add touches of nostalgia to the composition and symbolize the longing for harmony and balance between humans and nature. They serve as a reminder that even in the most challenging situations, moments of silence and calm can be found. The painting reflects the concept embedded in the "Silence" series, where the artist explores the theme of happiness and joy in unusual times. She draws inspiration from the conversations of the Dalai Lama and Desmond Tutu in their book "The Book of Joy," which discusses achieving inner happiness even in a changing world. Through the combination of realism and abstraction, the artist creates unique visual narratives that encourage the viewer to reflect on their own path to inner peace. Her works not only bring aesthetic pleasure but also stimulate dialogue about what truly matters in our lives. This painting embodies the artist's philosophy that inner peace can be cultivated even in the harshest circumstances. "Peaceful Slumber" invites the viewer to pause, take a deep breath, and find a quiet haven within their own soul.
