Description
This diptych of two sensual paintings each measuring 80x80 cm, reflects the enduring allure of feminine passion and sensuality. The abstract female portraits focus on vivid red lips, with smeared lipstick hinting at the aftermath of an intense moment, embodying both the strength and vulnerability of desire. Hints of Pop Art lend boldness to the work, while the contrast of black and white heightens the drama, drawing attention to the red and underscoring the emotions captured on the canvas.
“Echo of Desire" presents two women immersed in their emotions—a subtle and powerful exploration of yearning and attraction. The minimalist composition and bold strokes create an almost tangible tension, drawing the viewer into an intimate space where passion and mystery converge. Through contrasts of tones and textures, this work invites the viewer to linger on the resonant, unspoken attraction between the two halves—an echo of emotions that extends beyond the canvas.
Presentation
Kristina Mallen, a painter with a background in oil and acrylic mediums.
Her recognisable style infuses the sophistication of Art Deco, the pop of Pop Art with a dominant focus on the female figure, manifesting elegance and eroticism. Her work exudes the extravagance, classical chic, and charm of women, striking a balance between provocation and the sublime.
