Description
This artwork is a striking depiction of a majestic deer made through an inventive collage technique. The animal's imposing antlers, precisely crafted, stand proudly, creating a dynamic contrast with the abstract background.
The artist skillfully uses fragments of printed paper, torn and ingeniously glued to form the whole canvas. This juxtaposition between naturalism and modern elements of typography immediately captivates the eye.
The splashes of bright red color that splash across the painting add a bold dimension, evoking both energy and movement. The color palette, deploys a richness of earthy and woody hues, accentuating the realism of the deer while maintaining a balance with the abstract aspect of the collage.
Through this work, the artist manages to convey a vision of natural beauty that blends with urban modernity, creating a captivating visual dialogue. The deer, a symbol of grace and grandeur, seems to emerge from the structured chaos of the papers, expressing a narrative of survival and resilience in an ever-changing world.
Presentation
Appaloosa is a French artist. He studied at the Beaux-Arts in several French cities, between Beaune, Marseille and Annecy.
He began a career as a graphic designer with an event agency, but in 2014 he left his job and began a career as a professional artist, which took him to various countries and to receive several awards.
Appaloosa's works are the result of several plastic techniques, including collage from papers torn by the artist.
He built up a vast collection of current and modern images collected from magazines and posters.
Thus, Appaloosa recycles images specific to our current society and reconstructs, from these testimonies, a work in its own right. Appaloosa's works sometimes display an almost semi-abstract disorder, in compositions as colorful as they are dynamic.
The artist seeks to reverse the usual codes of a canvas: the subject becomes matter, and vice versa.
