Description
The artwork presented is a visual explosion that skillfully blends classical and contemporary elements, capturing the essence of modern street art. At the center, under a tilted gold frame, is a black and white image of the famous Mona Lisa, whose enigmatic attitude contrasts with the surrounding liveliness. This juxtaposition underlines the eternal fascination with this Renaissance masterpiece. The background is an urban canvas saturated with graffiti and bright colors, dominated by hues of blue, pink and yellow. Splashes and drips of paint add a dynamic spontaneity, evoking the raw energy of street art. Emblematic figures, such as characters resembling contemporary artists in distinctive outfits, are integrated into the composition. Their presence embodies the spirit of rebellion and social criticism often associated with this art form. The words “For the love of art," centered in bold pink, serve as a peremptory statement, celebrating artistic passion and devotion. Below, a collection of pop art objects, such as Campbell's soup cans, anchors the scene in a visual culture where the everyday meets the extraordinary. The artist's eclectic approach confidently fuses elements of high and low culture, inviting us to reconsider our perception of art and its context. This work is not only an homage, but a vibrant manifesto of the dialogue between different art worlds, highlighting the perpetual influence of cultural icons throughout time.
Presentation
Yuval Gold known as Yuvi describes himself as a graffiti inspired pop artist saying:
“The street as the graffiti artist's main source of inspiration makes the work accessible, authentic, and relatable."
The animation and vibrancy in each work takes us straight back to the streets which inspired them, and has won him exhibitions and admirers in places as diverse in the world.
Today, his works are valued and represented in galleries around the world in places as UK, USA, Milan, Hong Kong and Dubai.
Superheroes, scientists, artists, movie stars, animals – all these and many more subjects make appearances in his work. Using humor and defiance, he gives an artistic voice to his world view, exploring issues which he cares passionately about, from social criticism to iconic homage, in his deeply personal language.
Born in Tel Aviv- 'the other city that never sleeps' - In the late 70s, Yuvi spent much of his early life in a hipster neighborhood known as Florentine which is now the heart of the city's graffiti scene. Yuvi grew up surrounded by graffiti, music, politics and the social agenda of a city with a hugely cosmopolitan character. All these influences combined to ignite his imagination and direct his creative and tempestuous personality into highly expressive and vibrant artistic statements.
Yuvi creates his own one of a kind, fun, humorous and exciting art pieces, and enjoys bringing his expression of freedom and love into the homes of all those who buy his art.
