The oil painting "Game" appears to be an abstract representation of a checkers or chess game in progress, with the board transformed into a cosmic tableau. The pieces are depicted as concentric circles with alternating colors—dark and light—suggesting a duality reminiscent of the night sky and the moon or celestial bodies. The background is a deep, rich blue, speckled with white, resembling a starry night sky. This interstellar setting is further accentuated by splashes of white and varying shades of blue and black, giving the impression of a galaxy with its myriad stars and nebulae. The dark pieces seem to absorb the light, while the white pieces reflect it, creating a vivid contrast that is both striking and harmonious. Each piece is individualized by the unique swirls within, implying movement and energy contained within them, as if each has its own universe or orbit. The abstract nature of "Game" allows for multiple interpretations; it could be seen as a metaphor for the cosmic forces at play in the universe or as a reflection on the strategic and timeless nature of board games themselves, which can mirror the complexity and vastness of the cosmos in their play. The title "Game" suggests a playful element to the composition, inviting viewers to engage with the painting as they might a game, discovering patterns, strategies, and a deeper understanding of the interconnectedness of all things.
