Description
"Josefa" pays tribute to all the women who took up arms to defend the freedom of their people. Often in the shadows, they carried the resistance and contributed to the victory for the self-determination of their nation.
I was inspired by the Adelitas, a symbolic name given to the women involved in the Mexican Revolution.
This work is part of the Souveraines Collection, an invitation to reflect on the power, resilience and universal beauty of women.
Made in oil with a knife, this work reveals expressive colors and textures. Inspired by Mexican muralism and the photographs and stories of Juan Rulfo.
Presentation
Born in Mexico and living in France, Patricia Pierre Gomez Baranda considers herself a citizen of the world, deeply committed to tolerance and diversity. She creates abstract and expressive works where colors, shapes, and textures form the core of her artistic language. With an acute sensitivity, she conveys emotions through the joys of everyday life, universal beauty, and social or historical reflections.
Patricia invites you to contemplate and reflect with creations that emphasize expression over perfection.
Her watercolor and oil paintings draw energy from Van Gogh's brushstrokes, Turner's storms, and the intensity of Orozco's murals.
