Pink Sky, 2013

Inga Makarova

“Pink Sky" is a striking surrealist composition by Inga Makarova, measuring 90x80x2 cm, created with a combination of acrylic and oil on canvas. This mesmerizing artwork invites the viewer into a dreamlike realm where a herd of horses gallops energetically across a vibrant green meadow. Above them stretches a bold, vivid pink sky, creating a surreal and otherworldly backdrop. The horses, depicted with realistic detail and lifelike motion, are contrasted against the flat, minimalistic sky, which eliminates the constraints of traditional landscapes. The result is an intriguing visual paradox that evokes feelings of freedom, vitality, and wonder.

Makarova's choice of colors and composition adds layers of meaning to the piece. The bright pink sky challenges expectations, suggesting an alternate reality or heightened emotional state, while the horses symbolize raw energy and the unbridled spirit of nature. This combination of dynamic motion and surreal simplicity creates a meditative exploration of the boundaries between reality and imagination. The work is both visually arresting and deeply symbolic, speaking to Makarova's unique ability to merge realism with surrealist elements. A stunning addition to any collection, “Pink Sky" is sure to ignite thought and conversation.
