The painting "Hoarfrost" depicts a serene, frost-covered rural landscape that exudes a quiet, tranquil beauty. The scene is dominated by soft, muted tones of white, gray, and pale purple, creating the impression of a cold winter morning. The artist masterfully captures the delicate layer of frost that has settled on the trees, fences, and rooftops, turning the countryside into a dreamy, almost ethereal setting. At the center of the composition stands a frost-laden tree, its branches shimmering under the thin light of the sun, which appears as a soft, glowing orb behind a veil of mist. The sky is hazy, suggesting a cold, foggy morning where the air is crisp, and everything is wrapped in a blanket of frost. The scattered houses in the background are barely visible through the mist, blending seamlessly into the pale surroundings. This gives the impression of isolation and peaceful solitude, typical of a quiet village in the heart of winter. The foreground features a broken, weathered fence, adding a touch of rustic charm and grounding the painting in reality. The fence, with its leaning slats and patches of frost, suggests that life continues even in the harshest of seasons. The dried corn stalks peeking through the snow-covered ground hint at the remnants of autumn, a subtle reminder of the changing seasons. The artist's use of thick, textured brushstrokes brings a tactile quality to the painting, making viewers almost feel the cold air and the crunch of frost underfoot. The overall atmosphere of the painting is calm and contemplative, inviting viewers to pause and appreciate the quiet beauty of winter. With "Hoarfrost," the artist aims to convey a sense of stillness and peace found in nature during the winter months. The muted color palette and soft light create a mood of introspection, while the frost-covered landscape evokes feelings of nostalgia and tranquility. The painting reminds viewers of the beauty that can be found in the simplest of moments — the quiet of a winter morning, the gentle glow of the sun through mist, and the delicate patterns of frost on familiar objects.

Works by Boris Serdyuk are held in museums in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, European countries, the USA, Israel, and other countries.
In 2018, the artist entered the global art space of the creative platform in New York, where seven of his works were included in the catalog "Painting & Graphics."
Currently lives and works in Kremenchuk, Poltava Region.
Took his first steps in the world of visual arts within the walls of his local school, then studied at Yuriev-Polsky Pedagogical School. After graduation, he returned to his homeland and started working as a drawing and painting teacher.
Later, he realized that for an artist, creative freedom is essential. Thus, after seventeen years of teaching, he left the profession to focus on his creative work. The artist is content to have the opportunity to engage in his beloved craft, which he considers the meaning of his life.
His journey had its ups and downs, victories in competitions, and recognition from admirers, yet he never ceased his determined quest for his artistic path. In ancient times, "serdyuk" referred to professional infantrymen in the Cossack ranks. This heritage likely passed down not only the surname but also many Cossack traits to the artist, including hard work, modesty, and human dignity.
Boris Serdyuk creates in genres such as portrait, landscape, and thematic composition. His works are varied, reflecting the artist's impressions of the places he visited. Among them are picturesque corners of Kremenchuk and Dnipro views, urban and maritime landscapes, the grandeur of the Carpathian Mountains, and cozy Ukrainian villages. His canvases are intriguing in terms of color and relatively compositionally perfect, revealing the life of nature at the time of their execution.
There are also commissioned portraits and paintings, such as "Shevchenko in Baturyn." He spent over a year working on it, studying the architecture of the former hetman capital. However, the artist prefers to work swiftly, capturing the vision of a painting before it fades from his mind and before the sun changes its angle and shadows. On average, according to the artist, he spends about 40 minutes on a single landscape.
Boris successfully combines a poetic perception of the world and a deep understanding of nature with brilliant artistic execution. His paintings exude a special light and a delicate sense of nature – vivid colors on the canvas resonate with intermediate tones. The artist has abandoned contours, replacing them with separate and contrasting brushstrokes; his paintings amaze with colors, not only their diversity but also the amount of substance applied to the canvas – vibrant, vivid, voluminous.
Describing the master's works is a challenging task. Boris Serdyuk's works are special – they are painted with soul. One must see and feel the wonderful harmony of nature on the artist's canvases firsthand and touch the great mystery of Art.
