Description
Klish 49
Andriy Klishyn's painting "House in the Night" evokes a sense of solitude, mystery, and quiet contemplation. The monochromatic palette, dominated by deep black with rough, expressive strokes of pale light, creates a haunting yet intimate atmosphere. The small, rustic house stands as the central focal point, nestled among trees and surrounded by a barely visible landscape. The house, with its dimly highlighted windows and textured walls, suggests a place of shelter amidst the darkness, symbolizing warmth and security in an otherwise vast and unknown world. The towering trees add to the composition's depth, their rough brushstrokes creating a sense of movement, as if swaying in the night breeze.Through this work, Klishyn conveys the contrast between isolation and comfort. The painting invites viewers to reflect on themes of home, loneliness, and the silent beauty of nighttime landscapes. It captures a moment of stillness, where the house remains a quiet witness to the endless expanse of the darkened world around it.

The artist about himself:
“As a professional artist, I started my career late, at 61 years old. But it is possible that this was what should have happened. Everything has its time. Rich life experiences have become the source of my creativity. My art is ambiguous and unlike any other, probably because “I paint with my heart." Sometimes I use an intuitive drawing, namely: not from life or from a photograph, but only what suits the subconscious, soul, heart.
Most importantly and completely unexpectedly for me, after a series of works I began to understand where my images come from... I think that I or my essence saw them in our past or future life.
Despite my little experience, I already have more than two hundred paintings, about forty of them have found “their home" in private collections and museums."
The paintings are in the Lutsk Art Museum, in the Korsakov Family Museum of Contemporary Art.
