Image of joy on green grass, 2007

Anatoly Kost

"Image of Joy on Green Grass" is a radiant explosion of movement and color, where Anatoly Kost captures the essence of unrestrained joy and vitality through his signature ArtHouse abstraction style. The composition is a symphony of vibrant hues—electric blues, fiery oranges, and sun-drenched yellows—interwoven with energetic splatters and dynamic gestural lines. These elements create a pulsating sense of rhythm, as if joy itself were given form on canvas.

At the core of the painting, fragmented yet organic shapes emerge and dissolve, evoking fleeting moments of happiness, memory, and celebration. The expressive brushwork and layered textures suggest a playful spontaneity, yet beneath the surface lies a masterful orchestration of chaos and structure. The deep red background intensifies the contrast, making the green and yellow strands dance across the composition like echoes of laughter carried by the wind.

Concept

Painted in 2007 in Anatoly Kost's Volyn workshop, Image of Joy on Green Grass reflects the artist's deep engagement with emotion and abstraction. It belongs to a series of works that explore the interplay between form and feeling, where color becomes a language of pure expression. The title suggests a connection to nature—perhaps a fleeting childhood memory or a moment of serenity transformed into vibrant abstraction.

Exhibited in various contemporary collections, this piece is a testament to Kost's ability to convey complex emotional landscapes through nonfigurative forms. As a leading figure in "contemp-abstraction," his work transcends mere aesthetics, offering viewers an immersive sensory and intellectual experience.

A captivating addition to any modern collection, Image of Joy on Green Grass brings an uplifting energy to any space, making it an ideal choice for collectors who seek art that radiates vitality, movement, and the essence of unfiltered joy.
