Description
This work features an assemblage of tiles forming a stylized central portrait of Jean Cocteau, dominated by blue and gold hues. An imposing face emerges, framed by artistically outstretched wings, a symbol of freedom and ascension. Graphic elements and symmetrical patterns add a dynamic and harmonious dimension. At the bottom, the quote "To the impossible I am bound" strikes a note of defiance and determination. The varied symbols surrounding the portrait, such as stars and floral motifs, enrich the composition with cultural and emblematic nuances. The artist successfully merges portraiture and decorative art, creating a work that is both contemporary and timeless.
Presentation
OJA is a multidisciplinary artist with a professional background in publishing, advertising and communications.
A graphic designer for over 20 years, OJA decided to create her identity as a street artist after a trip to Lisbon where she discovered the art of azulejo ceramics.
His first collages were visible in the streets of Paris from 2020.
Passionate about pop culture and influenced by pop art, she incorporates strong symbols and messages into the ornamentation of her creations. She creates portraits of iconic figures, sometimes desecrated by society, sanctified in the form of ex-votos.
In 2022, she created and produced her first solo exhibition
“ART POP CELEBRATION,” to celebrate the transition from his work as a poster-collagist to that of a stencil artist.
