Miniature, 2024

Pascal Courcelles

Edition 1/1.

Unique piece – signed by the artist.

A vibrant explosion of color and texture condensed into a compact format, “Miniature" (2024) by Pascal Courcelles is a one-of-a-kind oil painting that redefines the relationship between painting and sculpture. With impasto layers so thick they seem to defy gravity, this piece invites not only the eye, but the senses.

What makes this work truly unique is its physicality, the sculptural quality of the paint, which stands proud from the wood surface in peaks and waves, almost like a topography of emotion. Each color is applied in its purest form: joyful yellows, vivid reds, airy blues, lush greens. They interact in an intuitive rhythm, a spontaneous harmony that reflects the artist's deep relationship with matter and gesture.

This is not just a painting to look at; it's one to experience. Framed in a deep white box frame that preserves and enhances its relief, the piece is in excellent condition and ready to hang. Even without seeing it in person, one can imagine the movement of the palette knife, the density of the material, the energy captured in the moment of creation.

This is a unique edition (1/1), there is no reproduction, no second version. It is a singular expression of Courcelles' mature artistic language: intuitive, joyful, grounded in decades of exploration and exhibitions across Europe, Japan, and the Middle East. For collectors who seek originality and emotion in a tangible form, this piece offers both.

Created in 2024, this painting belongs to a recent cycle of “miniatures," where Courcelles condenses the strength of his larger compositions into small, powerful formats — ideal for intimate spaces or curated walls where scale and presence need to strike a delicate balance.

Perfect for collectors who appreciate materiality, gesture, and authenticity. This piece will resonate with those who value works that spark curiosity and dialogue. It's a painting that lives beyond the surface, a bold, tactile celebration of color and form.
