Description
This work of art is striking for its bold geometric abstraction. Angular black and grey shapes overlap and intersect, creating a complex network of dynamic lines at the centre of the composition. The vibrant orange background frames these dark shapes, giving them a magnetic, contrasting presence. The whole evokes both chaos and a strange harmony, with each angle adding dynamic tension. This work is a perfect illustration of the ability of abstraction to express energy and movement, while leaving the viewer free to interpret the work as they wish. Unique in its kind, it provokes as much reflection as admiration.

Roger Chastel, his friend introduced him to Aimé Maeght which allowed him to exhibit permanently at Maeght's gallery.
Master in drawing and engraving, he met well-know artists such as Georges Braque, Jacques Villon, Henri Laurens, Alberto Giacometti, Nicolas de Staël, Alexander Calder, Roger Bissière, Jean Arp but also famous writers (Francis Ponge, Pierre Reverdy, René Char...).
He was an actif member of the Les mains éblouies, anvant-garde group uniting famous artists Pierre Dmitrienko, Bernard Quentin, Serge Rezvani, Robert Baudinière, Raymond Mason et Jacques Lanzmann) at Maeght's gallery and editing the magazine " Derrière le miroir".
In the same time, Signovert kept engraving for artists such as Georges Braque, Jean Arp, Maurice Estève, Serge Poliakoff et Olivier Debré.
In 1980, he was named as teacher at Ecole nationale supérieure des Baux-Arts but he died before to start.
