Description
Kotmin 46
In "Cockerel" by Olga Artim, the artist presents a lively still life featuring a traditional ceramic cockerel surrounded by a burst of vibrant red poppies. The bold colors and energetic brushstrokes bring the composition to life, with the deep red of the poppies contrasting beautifully against the lush green foliage. The intricately designed ceramic cockerel, a symbol of rural life and folk traditions, serves as the focal point of the painting, blending seamlessly with the surrounding flowers.Through this work, Artim expresses a celebration of Ukrainian folk culture and nature. The combination of the cockerel, a common symbol in folk art, with the vibrant poppies, often seen as symbols of remembrance and beauty, creates a harmonious connection between tradition and the natural world. The painting exudes warmth, energy, and a sense of joy, inviting viewers to appreciate the rich cultural heritage and the beauty of everyday objects.

Studied: She studied at a children's music school, and then transferred to a children's art school. After graduating from school, she entered the Odessa State Art School named after M. Grekov (painting), which she graduated in 1985 with honors. She studied at the Lviv Ukrainian Polygraphic Institute named after I. Fedorov (graphics), which she graduated in 1993. Not stopping there, she studied in the workshop of the People's Artist of Ukraine M. O. Ryasnyansky. She began her creative activity in 1993. She works in oil painting.
Member of the youth association at the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1993).
Works as an artist of the Nikolaev art-production plant (since 1985). Main works: triptych "Spring Dreams" (1993); “Pink Dream", “Three Graces" (both - 1994); “Poppies of Chernobyl" (1995); “Olbia", “Forest Gifts", “Leda" (all - 1997); “Sweet-voiced sirens", “The Legend of Phaeton" (both - 1998); “Red viburnum", “Mountain ash by the window", “Amsterdam tulips" (all - 1999).
The artist has more than 40 exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad, including 10 personal ones. Her works are in private collections in Japan, the USA, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Russia and Ukraine.
Perceiving the world around her with love, everything that surrounds her, she recreates it with reverent tenderness in her paintings. Different in form and color scheme, they amaze with the author's ability to see beauty in all manifestations of life, to notice the beautiful in a child's smile, the gray head of a veteran. In still lifes, various manifestations of flowers are felt - brightness, variety of colors, sophisticated aroma.
The portrait genre occupies a large place in the author's work. All portrait and still life paintings are painted from nature. The characters, their costumes, and entourage are the author's ideas; he always creates clothes for the "models" with his own hands.
