Description
Kotmin 97
In "The Court of Paris" by Ukrainian artist Artim Olga, the scene is rich in cultural expression and symbolism, taking inspiration from Ukrainian folk traditions. The painting likely depicts a folk rendition of the mythological "Judgment of Paris," with Paris portrayed in traditional Ukrainian clothing, surrounded by women adorned in vibrant, festive costumes. The central figure of Paris is thoughtful, holding a golden apple, symbolizing the famous choice between the three goddesses in classical mythology. The women surrounding him, with their expressive postures and vivid attire, likely represent the figures vying for his favor, interpreted through the lens of Ukrainian tradition. The artist uses bold colors and energetic brushstrokes to capture the emotion and drama of the moment. Through this work, Olga Artim might be exploring themes of choice, beauty, and cultural pride, blending a classical story with the vibrancy of Ukrainian heritage. The fusion of myth and national folklore adds depth and cultural significance to the painting, celebrating the richness of Ukrainian tradition while also engaging with universal themes.

The artist has more than 40 exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad, including 10 personal ones. Her works are in private collections in Japan, the USA, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Russia and Ukraine.
Perceiving the world around her with love, everything that surrounds her, she recreates it with reverent tenderness in her paintings. Different in form and color scheme, they amaze with the author's ability to see beauty in all manifestations of life, to notice the beautiful in a child's smile, the gray head of a veteran. In still lifes, various manifestations of flowers are felt - brightness, variety of colors, sophisticated aroma.
The portrait genre occupies a large place in the author's work. All portrait and still life paintings are painted from nature. The characters, their costumes, and entourage are the author's ideas; he always creates clothes for the "models" with his own hands.
