"Naked Girl" by renowned Ukrainian artist Viktor Konotopsky, inspired by Yuri Pimenov, is a delicate and contemplative exploration of human vulnerability and quiet strength. Rendered in a soft yet confident manner, the painting features a young woman seated in a relaxed, natural pose, her gaze turned slightly toward the viewer. Konotopsky channels Pimenov's subtle realism and emotional restraint, using a limited, harmonious color palette and diffused lighting to create an atmosphere of intimate solitude. The setting is sparse yet lived-in — the draped cloth, bare wall, and red towel evoke the simplicity of everyday life, grounding the nude figure in a believable, unpretentious space. This work is not about sensuality in the conventional sense, but rather about stillness, introspection, and authentic presence. Through this portrait, the artist expresses a respectful admiration for the feminine form as a symbol of quiet resilience, self-awareness, and timeless beauty.
Presentation
Viktor Konotopsky was born in 1967 in the village of Maleshkovka, Nedrigailovsky district, Sumy region.
Graduated from the Kharkiv State Art School and the Faculty of Arts of the Saratov State Pedagogical University named after Makarenko.
Worked as a drawing and drafting teacher, and an artist in the advertising field.
In the 90s, he lived and worked in Poland (Krakow and Szczecin) and St. Petersburg.
Viktor had many temptations to catch some fashionable artistic disease, but he remained himself.
Judging his painting by the standards of world artistic fashion is as absurd as declaring love with the memorized words of a popular literary hero. In this sense, it is naive, but the naivety of a professionally educated person. His paintings are realistic, although stylized. The landscapes are easily recognizable, but they contain a generalization leading to an image.
