Description
Zakhar Shevchuk's “Suspended Silence" is a monumental abstract acrylic painting that speaks through texture, motion, and spatial tension. A quiet mountain-like formation appears to rise and dissolve within a translucent arc – suggesting natural elevation, emotional suspension, or spiritual isolation. Executed in a restrained yet expressive palette of whites, lilacs, cold blues, and pale earth tones, the piece evokes an almost meditative stillness.
Shevchuk's style sits at the intersection of lyrical abstraction and minimal expressionism, where emotional depth is conveyed through layered gestures and intuitive color fields rather than literal form. The composition hovers between presence and absence, structure and evaporation – inviting the viewer to contemplate the space between thought and feeling.
Created in 2025, this 130x106 cm canvas continues the artist's exploration of landscapes transformed through inner experience. This original painting is for sale and available for acquisition by collectors seeking contemplative, contemporary abstraction grounded in poetic narrative.
Presentation
“I try to simplify the form to the point when it feels that nothing else shall be removed and only the essential elements remain. I transfer my impressions and self-reflections about objects into my paintings. I express what I feel rather than how I see, often arriving somewhere between figurative and abstract art." Zakhar Shevchuk
Zakhar Shevchuk is a young professional painter and draftsman, he holds a master in arts degree from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (Kyiv, Ukraine) and now himself teaches at the academy. His artworks are held in public and private collections worldwide, furthermore, he often participates in various public projects, such as painting murals and other monumental installations.
With years Zakhar's artistic style moved away from academic realism (which always tended closer to expressionism) and towards the style that in somewhere on the edge between figurative art and abstraction. In many of his works, even those that may seem as fully abstract ones, you will find some elements that were intentionally added, aiming to trick your brain into believing that you have finally found something recognisable, something that matches the reality, but then you suddenly loose it, starting the search over and over again.
