Description
Angela Wakefield's work is a unique blend of abstraction and realism, with a strong emphasis on colour. Her paintings are known for their bold, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant hues, which capture the energy and diversity of New York City. From the towering skyscrapers of Manhattan to the gritty streets of Brooklyn, Wakefield's art reflects the city's many moods and personalities. Whether she is depicting the frenzied pace of Times Square or the quiet beauty of Central Park, Wakefield's paintings are a testament to the enduring allure of New York.
Presentation
Born in 1978, Angela Wakefield followed an artistic course before becoming a key painter on the English and international artistic scene.
The artist is particularly interested in urban landscapes that she paints on most of the time large canvases. European and American capitals, as London and New York, inspire her. Her style of painting has been described as "contemporary realist" and is often compared to Edward Hopper by the collectors and art critics.
Angela was twice on the front cover of "Art of England" and presented in ARTnews - the art magazine the most read in the world, enabling her to gain a worldwide reputation.
Many English, European and American collectors have solicited her work. Her artworks have been exhibited at the Mathison Collection (UK), at the Beaumont Trust (UK), at the Macgregor Collection (Switzerland), or even at the D Stevens Collection (UK).
