Manhattan Henge New York City Dramatic Sunset by British Urban Landscape Artist, Angela Wakefield. Painted using strong blue, red and yellow primary colours, this striking original forms part of her New York Series. Art measures 36 x 48 inches Unframed Wakefield's work is a unique blend of abstraction and realism, with a strong emphasis on colour. Her paintings are known for their bold, expressive brushstrokes and vibrant hues, which capture the energy and diversity of New York City. This painting captures a dramatic urban scene of a NYC street at sunset. The perspective is a street-level view, with towering skyscrapers on either side creating a canyon-like effect. The buildings are painted in shades of blue and gray, which contrasts sharply with the vibrant oranges, reds, and yellows of the setting sun at the horizon. The sunlight radiates through the city, reflecting off the buildings and the street, creating a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. The street is lined with cars, some of which are highlighted by the intense glow of the sunset, adding to the realism and energy of the scene. The overall composition emphasizes the grandeur and the bustling atmosphere of the city, with the sunset providing a dramatic and almost surreal focal point.
