Description
This striking artwork captures the solitary silhouette of a child gazing upon the shimmering expanse of the sea. The figure stands on the sandy shores, seemingly caught in a moment of contemplation and wonder. The use of bold brushstrokes and a limited color palette emphasizes the vivid blue of the water, contrasting sharply with the dark tones of the child's clothing. The play of light across the waves evokes a sense of movement and depth, drawing the viewer into the scene. The composition's simplicity is its strength, evoking themes of solitude, introspection, and the infinite possibilities that lie beyond the horizon. The painting's unique perspective, with the child's back turned, invites viewers to share in the mystery and infinite possibilities of the ocean's vastness. This piece uniquely captures the innocence and curiosity of childhood, set against nature's grand backdrop.
Presentation
Carole Leprince is a French artist born in 1966 who lives & works in Houilles, France. Over the years, her personal photos have been the inspiration for painting. She paints both those close to her and strangers in moving settings that can contribute to spontaneous attitudes. She is keen on painting beaches, streets or parties. These photos do not need to be perfect; they are only a basis for an aesthetic space where she can drift into, and end up with a creative work before her eyes as opposed to a replica of a photo. It's an enthralling work of commitment, where each painting turns into an equation to be solved. Carole Leprince trying to put forward a layout, a secret place where each person can tell or come up with their own story.
