Description
This artwork vividly captures a serene beach scene at sunset. Dominated by warm hues of orange and subtle blues, the painting invites the viewer into a tranquil coastal retreat. The calm sea reflects the dusky sky, merging seamlessly with the shore. In the foreground, two individuals—detailed and distinct—walk along the water's edge, their casual attire suggesting a leisurely evening by the ocean. In the background, other figures engage with the sea, adding depth and activity to the composition. An isolated house on the horizon grounds the scene with a hint of solitude. The artist's deft use of light and shadow creates a harmonious balance, highlighting the unique atmosphere of early evening. This piece is an exquisite blend of realism and impressionism, capturing the ephemeral beauty of twilight at the beach.
Presentation
Carole Leprince is a French artist born in 1966 who lives & works in Houilles, France. Over the years, her personal photos have been the inspiration for painting. She paints both those close to her and strangers in moving settings that can contribute to spontaneous attitudes. She is keen on painting beaches, streets or parties. These photos do not need to be perfect; they are only a basis for an aesthetic space where she can drift into, and end up with a creative work before her eyes as opposed to a replica of a photo. It's an enthralling work of commitment, where each painting turns into an equation to be solved. Carole Leprince trying to put forward a layout, a secret place where each person can tell or come up with their own story.
