Description
This artwork captures a serene and joyful moment as three figures, likely friends or family, enjoy ice cream on a park bench. The use of warm, earthy tones creates a sense of warmth and comfort, contrasting with the lush greenery in the background. The painter employs expressive brushstrokes, infusing movement and life into the scene, while the play of light and shadow adds depth and realism. Each figure is distinctly expressive, yet collectively they share an aura of togetherness, emphasizing the simple pleasure of shared moments. The central figure in a striped dress adds a vibrant focal point, drawing the viewer's eye. This piece uniquely blends realism with impressionistic techniques, celebrating the beauty of ordinary, fleeting moments.
Presentation
Carole Leprince is a French artist born in 1966 who lives & works in Houilles, France. Over the years, her personal photos have been the inspiration for painting. She paints both those close to her and strangers in moving settings that can contribute to spontaneous attitudes. She is keen on painting beaches, streets or parties. These photos do not need to be perfect; they are only a basis for an aesthetic space where she can drift into, and end up with a creative work before her eyes as opposed to a replica of a photo. It's an enthralling work of commitment, where each painting turns into an equation to be solved. Carole Leprince trying to put forward a layout, a secret place where each person can tell or come up with their own story.
