Description
Immerse yourself in the dreamlike world of Robert Detheux with his captivating 1978 work, "La folle à la mouche." This 90 cm x 90 cm canvas painting embodies the very essence of surrealism, an artistic movement that defies logic and explores the depths of the unconscious.
In this composition, Detheux uses a soft, subtle color palette, creating an ethereal, almost mystical atmosphere. The pastel hues blend harmoniously, evoking a waking dreamlike feeling. Shapes and figures intertwine in a visual ballet, reminiscent of the works of surrealist masters such as Salvador Dalí and René Magritte.
"La folle à la mouche" invites the viewer into deep introspection, each glance revealing new details and hidden meanings. The work captures the essence of the absurd and the marvelous, characteristics of surrealism, while retaining a unique touch specific to Detheux.
This painting is not only a masterpiece of Belgian art, but also an invitation to explore the most mysterious corners of the human imagination. A must-have acquisition for any art collector with a passion for surrealism and timeless beauty.

Presentation
Belgian artist Robert Detheux (1932-2010) has presented us with emblematic works throughout his artistic career.
A graduate of the Saint-Luc Institute in fine arts, Detheux taught graphic expression in the advertising section at the Tournai Academy until 1996, while pursuing a career as a painter.
In 1976 Detheux captured critical attention with a series of sensual paintings exploring the obsessive theme of the belly and navel. In 1985, he exhibited at Abras (Brussels) a series of dark paintings decorated with clear calligraphy.
The following year, at the Botanique (Brussels), he created paintings-collages steeped in black humor representing the model little girls of the Countess of Ségur.
Detheux's pictorial research, where the line and the play of textures are omnipresent, clearly reflect his experience as a graphic designer.
Throughout his career, Detheux was rewarded on several occasions, in particular by the Young Belgian Painting prize in 1953, 1954 and 1971. In addition to his distinctions, his works are also present in the collection of the Royal Museums of Belgium.
The captivating works of this major artist have left a lasting mark on the Belgian and international art scene.
