Description
Abstraction is expressed here through a dialogue between shadow and light. The composition plays on marked contrasts. A dark, almost nocturnal background welcomes touches of pale yellow and olive green.
The material accumulates in successive layers. The use of mixed media brings a grainy and organic texture. The eye circulates between dense areas and more airy passages.
The artist works the canvas as a field of experimentation. Forms emerge without ever settling. The rendering evokes fragments of nature or ancient bark.
This acrylic painting on canvas, created in 2013, favors the tactile sensation. The light seems to filter through an opaque veil. The final rendering oscillates between the depth of black and the clarity of light pigments.
